Secretary of the Commissariat of Communal Property, Community of Tepuxta, Concordia, Sinaloa, beneficiary municipality of the Monte Mojino Fund project

"From the Monte Mojino Fund project, what we like most is its focus on community conservation, including wildlife and forests. Here, we face the issue of extensive plundering and destruction of our woodlands. We've discussed this with most community members, and they have liked this, that we have been explaining it to them. Engineers have visited, and the organization Conselva, Costas Comunidades has been particularly involved with us: they guide us in how to speak and handle the community interactions, emphasizing the need to preserve the forests to ensure rainfall. That is the problem, that we are having a lot of drought, it's either not raining or raining much less than other years. We talk to the community and raise awareness... And that is what we really like the most, explaining this to the people, helping them become aware and refrain from damaging the forests and wildlife."
