In 2023, the Biodiversity Conservation in the Sierra Madre Oriental and the Gulf of Mexico (Sierra y Mar) project made notable progress in improving the management of the protected areas it supports. The renovation of field stations and the installation of new radio communication equipment have been crucial, providing the ranger team with the necessary tools to effectively monitor, control, and follow up on field activities. Currently, Sierra y Mar is committed to developing a communication strategy that highlights the project’s achievements and progress, providing the protected areas with the necessary tools to independently create their own content and communication materials.
