The Private Coastal Lands Fund, stablished in 2013, has provided vital support to six initiatives by four local organizations in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa and Nayarit, key areas for conservation. These projects have ensured the conservation of 37,567 hectares through the payment of property taxes and the implementation of conservation and sustainable management strategies. In 2023, the Fund continued to oversee the technical and administrative monitoring of these activities, contributing significantly to the prevention of illicit undertakings, and maintaining the legal integrity of the lands. The biological monitoring efforts and tourism management projects undertaken by local organizations represent an important component of the environmental management of these private coastal areas.
